“[My kids] all loved them. They have been working on them all weekend! My son - who was playing math games on his iPad said to me - “Mom this is better than the iPad and just as addicting but without the blue light.” I am SOLD. I am constantly looking for resources to stimulate and challenge them and this has been great.”
“My son is easily distracted and quick to complain about anything he seems school work. Since I Homeschool that's almost everything! He really likes this book though! It is great for logical thinking exercises!”
“My five year old looks forward to working in this book! He definitely doesn’t see it as learning! He sees it as a game and therefore a break from his school work! I’m super happy with this book! Is a great addition to our homeschool!”
“I use this book in my math tutoring practice. I have a few kids who benefit from a focus activity or two before working. In addition to practicing focus, the puzzles are great for strengthening logical thinking and working problems systematically!”
“My 7-yo absolutely LOVES this workbook. I bought it for him to do a page or two a night but he has been wanting to do the whole book in one sitting! He has officially declared it "The funnest workbook EVER!"”
“I don't often leave reviews. BUT, this book is awesome, so I had to share! I got this book for my middle school gifted students. Looking for something that would challenge their brains. One puzzle had a group of 10 arguing over the answer. That was so great to see. They spent time defending their answers naturally. If you are teaching gifted students or if you like a challenge, each page is a thinker. I was happily surprised! And I'm happy to say it will be well worth your money.”
“This is the resource I've been searching for for my gifted students! I love the variety of activities and puzzles. This is for sure to be a favorite activity in our classroom!”
“I have a 7 year old who loves learning. She loves learning the ins and outs and wondering how things tick. This book was a great one for her to open on Easter. She opened it and got right to work. There are a wide variety of activities that are helpful in keeping kids entertained or making them feel less like they are "working" and learning and more about having fun.”
“This little workbook is fantastic for kids with good reasoning skills! I often find workbooks are either overly complicated and overload kids with too much on a page or unclear instructions, or they're just not challenging enough. This workbook hits the perfect sweet spot -- cute illustrations, well laid out pages, and genuinely challenging problems that are age appropriate and draw kids in. My daughter is 7 and she has worked more diligently on this book than I've ever seen her. The problems clearly engage her and are diverse and interesting.”
“I CANNOT say enough good things about the Gritty Kids workbooks and this one is no exception. The puzzles and challenges are gratifying for use if you have a kid who needs pushed to think about things in a manner that isn't just straightforward math or reading. They have to actively process the challenges in the books to get through them properly. I use a variety of offerings from across the series in my gifted classroom as daily warm-ups and extra challenges.”
“I am an educator trained to work with gifted children who reads the research on gifted learning needs. I’ve also received a lot of training on how the brain learns for those with various learning needs on and below grade level, and who need average repetition or more repetition to grasp concepts. This book is ideal for gifted learners who need to use critical thinking and apply concepts they know in new and challenging ways. It is also great for other paces and levels of thinkers and is NOT just for children. As an adult, I love these puzzles.”
“The book is divided to address different types of activities and can be used to possibly supplement lessons. I plan on selecting a few pages to keep on hand sorted by their difficulty for 1st through 5th grade and rotate throughout the year.”
“As a K-5 STEM teacher, I find so much value in these puzzles. They vary in difficulty, and many would take my students some time to solve; providing a chance to promote growth mindset.”
“Been using this for 3 months and it’s far and above the best workbook for our kindergartner. The other ones feel way too easy, like what they worked on in preschool. This one challenges his ways of thinking and makes him reason and strategize too. He also has more fun with it than most of the others.”
“We love that this workbook gradually gets more challenging and has a lot of variety. Our 8 year old cannot put it down, always wanting to get to the next activity.”
“These are the best books. I use them weekly in my gifted and talented classroom. These word activities challenge my students and make them think outside the box. My students love these puzzle-like activities and feel so successful when they complete them. This is full of challenging fun, I highly recommend this book and all others from this author, I own them all!”

Mistakes aren’t failures—they’re part of learning. Working through difficulty builds perseverance and confidence.
Inconspicuous learning that is engaging and manageably difficult means kids are more willing to stretch themselves and keep going.
